Learning & Development
Due to the current COVID 19 pandemic all LSAB Multi Agency face to face safeguarding training has been cancelled until further notice. Please keep checking back here for further updates
The Business Unit have recently launched the first in a series of virtual classroom courses.
What is the difference between a virtual classroom and an e learning course?
The difference is that the virtual classroom course is led by a real tutor and is live. Delegates can ask questions and interact with the tutor and the other delegates. The platform allows for workshops, exercises, polls, videos, audio, documents, tutor webcam and games to be shared with the delegates making the experience immersive and interactive.
Charging policy for face to face and virtual courses
There are no costs incurred to attend for not for profit organisations. If you are a profit making agency then the LSAB charge £100 per person, per day for training.
Please note that there will be a charge of £100.00 for non-attendance. This charge is non negotiable and is applied consistently to ensure fairness across agencies. If the place is cancelled 5 working days (Mon-Fri) before the event or the delegate is replaced on the day, then no charge will be incurred. If a replacement delegate is a student, please contact email@example.com to discuss prior to the course.

7 Minute Briefings
7 minute briefings (7MBs) are based on a technique borrowed from the FBI. The approach is based on research which suggests that seven minutes is an ideal time span to concentrate and learn. Learning for seven minutes is manageable in most services, and learning is more memorable as it is simple and not clouded by other issues and pressures.
Lancashire Safeguarding Adults Board adopted the 7MB as a method of training and to date has been found a useful and effective way of learning and sharing information across a range of services.
