Training courses are available online via the eLearning portal. Courses include:
Safeguarding Adults Level 1 - providing the skills and knowledge required to identify and respond to concerns, disclosures and allegations of abuse and substandard practice. The course enables you to learn about the prevention and proportionate interventions and the dangers of risk adverse practice and the importance of upholding human rights.
Care Act eLearning - a number of modules available providing various information including 'Introduction and Overview', 'Safeguarding Duties and Responsibilities', and more specific learning around topics such as 'Transition into Adulthood'; 'Independent Advocacy'; and 'Care and Support Planning'.
Seven minute briefings are based on a technique borrowed from the FBI. The approach is based on research which suggests that seven minutes is an ideal time span to concentrate and learn. Learning for seven minutes is manageable in most services, and learning is more memorable as it is simple and not clouded by other issues and pressures.
Lancashire Safeguarding Children Board adtoped the 7 Minute Briefing as a method of training and to date has been found a useful and effective way of learning and sharing information across a range of services.
